“Do you have a dream career ? Whether its an advancement on your current job or entering another field, there is opportunity out there.”
I have been a classroom teacher for 7 going on 8 years and 2020 showed me I was ready to spread my wings.#dreams #goals #careerchange The pandemic allowed me to keep still and focus. I had a goal of becoming an instructional designer for years. Yes, years! I did not act on it because I was scared to move forward. I was scared about the “what if’s”. I enjoyed teaching and felt like I did it very well and it came easy to me. That’s here nor there, let’s talk about taking it to the next level.
In order to succeed you must have a plan, and that’s what led me to the next level. In order for me to advance my career, I needed to do a few things. First, I had to ensure this is what I wanted, then proceeded to create a plan. Once I had a plan, I gave myself a hard deadline. For me that was December 31, 2020. This was a major key because it kept me focused. Although many times it can be hard and discouraging while chasing your dreams, #dreamchaser you must remain positive and continue to chase your dream. Allow yourself grace during this transition and brace yourself for everything that lies ahead. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. I am happy to say that I will be transitioning into a new role as a Senior Instructional Designer with a software company. #win #goalcrusher.
